CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan — The Marine Corps will send elite reconnaissance Marines to the former Taliban stronghold of Marjah to buttress combat operations already underway by two conventional infantry battalions there, a top officer here said.

Bulletin from the cause: Thank A Soldier

Today I was approached by Krista Sylvester a reporter at a local paper (Metro Calgary) with the question “If you were alive during World War II would you join the ARMY?” This was asked due to the below article which states that 60% of people would not.

A senior Pentagon official told Congress Wednesday that the Obama administration’s new approach in Afghanistan is beginning to work, and that it is being extended from the area where it first was implemented in Helmand Province to the key population center of Kandahar.
